CohuHD’s Helios 3920 series PTZ Domes are designed to withstand elevated shock and vibration environments off-the-shelf. When additional ruggedness is desired, typically in applications where the camera will experience high vibrations and shocks, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and where camera failure is extremely costly to retrieve and replace, CohuHD offers a solution to satisfy the performance requirements for these types of applications.
All Helios 3920 series PTZ Domes are constructed of aluminum housing and internal interconnects without using any plastic “snap” together assemblies, frequently found in competitive PTZ dome designs.
The internal assemblies are fastened using metal standoffs and screws with loctite adhesives. This base design is compliant to Nema TS-2 shock and vibration standards. Additional protection is added by using 3140/3145 RTV applied to the interior housing, the individual components and board subassemblies. As well, all mechanical junctions in the housing assembly where long term shock and vibrations might experience metal fatigue are fitted with aluminum stiffening plates. CohuHD’s ruggedized PTZ dome cameras have been in operation for years without failure.
