Cohu IP-enabled cameras are available with a built-in Analytics Agent™ that performs the raw processing of images as seen by the camera prior to any image compression. This edge-of-network processing allows for nearly unlimited video intelligence without straining the infrastructure. The low-bandwidth data from the Analytics Agent is then transmitted to the network server for further processing by Cohu Analytics software.

Because the server uses low-bandwidth, bidirectional communication with the Agent-enabled units, it can perform a wide range of detection missions from dozens to hundreds of video devices in real time.

Non-motion detection (NMD) is used to detect any static changes in the scene, such as an object left unattended or obstructing operation of the protected location, even in a high traffic and crowded environment.
