The Cohu 5960 is an integrated thermal camera and positioner that provides what you always expect from Cohu Electronics: performance, quality, and style. This camera system has been designed to meet the requirements of today’s security professionals operating in challenging environments. The uncooled microbolometer camera is well suited to continuous operation.

MICROBOLOMETER THERMAL IMAGER
The Cohu 5960 may be ordered in one of two Focal Plane Arrays (FPA): 320 x 240 and 640 x 480. The size of the FPA does not affect image quality, rather the degree of detail that can be observed. There are five different color pallets available within the camera. The microbolometer detector provides 8-14µm spectral  range, best for short-to medium distances and for wide areas of view. It is perfect for those applications where the distance being monitored is less than 5 Km. Cohu offers a variety of lenses, from 13 mm to 100 mm, to optimize the camera’s field of view to the applications.

HIGHER STANDARDS
Cohu designed this next generation camera and positioning system to meet the technical objectives of security professionals. There are two thermal imagers to choose from, plus a variety of lens options to precisely match the surveillance requirement.  Because it is made by Cohu Electronics, the camera is protected by an IP67 camera enclosure that shields your investment from intrusion of water, pollutants and corrosives that degrade the camera. Cohu provides reliable images and backs them with a world-class warranty. The  positioner pans and tilts at an impressive 120°/sec in the preset mode, with ±0.2° accuracy. The side mounted camera provides an uninterrupted 360° horizontal field of view, and its 180° tilt  range provides a vertical scan range greater than standard pan and tilts.

TOURING, SECTOR IDs, PRIVACY ZONES
Up to eight tours, each with up to 32 preset positions and dwell time, can be stored in memory. You can set up to six teen sectors in a horizontal plane, each with its own identification title. In addition, eight programmable privacy zones can be set to prevent the viewing of selected scenes.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES
Each site can provide the precise camera and positioner data to system management software. Camera direction can be identified in 8 or 16 compass positions,  with the ability to set the true north position. Absolute scene position can be displayed in degrees, if desired. The thermal imager features a remote focusing technique that moves the focal plane array, allowing the use of fixed focus lenses rather than costly motorized lens assemblies. The result is a simplified design with a sealed lens assembly.
